Brand placements, seasonal campaigns, voucher activations and league sponsorship inside Digu

Talk to us

marketing@diguapp.com

One address for everything commercial — brands, agencies, event organisers, media and anyone with a campaign in mind. Tell us who you are, the dates you are working to and roughly what you want, and you will get a considered reply within 2 business days. If we are not the right fit for what you are planning, we will say so quickly rather than sell you something that will not work.

1Why advertise inside a card game

Digu is the traditional Maldivian card game, rebuilt as a phone game people play in short, repeated sittings — a few rounds waiting for something, a table with friends in the evening. That pattern is what makes it worth a brand’s attention: it is not a page someone scrolls past, it is a table they sit at, and they come back to it on their own.

What we can offer that an ad network cannot:

  • Undivided attention. There are no competing ad units, no interstitials and no video pre-rolls in Digu — so a brand placed here is not one of nine things on the screen. It is the only one.
  • A local audience. Digu is a Maldivian game with a Maldivian player base, which is exactly the audience a local campaign is usually trying and failing to buy at scale.
  • Placements that are part of the game rather than interruptions to it. A card back is looked at, not skipped; a voucher code is a gift, not an impression.
  • Real measurement where it exists: voucher redemptions are counted per batch, campaign sends and opens are recorded. Where we cannot measure something honestly, we will tell you that too.
Audience figures on request. We deliberately do not print install or player counts on this page — a number published on a marketing page is stale the week after and impossible for you to verify. Ask, and we will send you the current numbers together with the period they cover.

2Who we work with

Local brands and retailers
Seasonal visibility and code-based activations — receipts, packaging, in-store handouts, resort and café promotions.
Events and festivals
A dated deck and an announcement timed to the event, with codes to hand out on the ground.
Agencies
Bookable windows with a clear spec and predictable production. We will work to your client's calendar and give you honest lead times.
Telecoms, banks and fintech
Bulk coin credits, prize pools and co-branded campaigns, invoiced properly.
Tournament and league organisers
Coin prize pools today; sponsored in-app seasons as a launch partnership — see 3.6.

3What we offer

Six placements. Each one is marked with what it is today — we would rather lose a booking than describe something as live when a player cannot see it yet.

3.1Branded card backs

Available now

Your artwork on the back of every card, on every table, for the length of your window. It is the most-looked-at surface in the game — a player sees the card back on every deal, every draw and every discard of every round they play.

  • A deck is a full-bleed 5:7 card back, with an optional square logo composited over the centre. Both are yours to art-direct.
  • It goes live and comes down on a schedule we set in advance — no app update, no store review, nothing for players to install or opt into.
  • One deck is live at a time, so a booked window is exclusive to you by construction. Nobody else's brand shares the table.
  • It is cosmetic only. Card faces, shuffling and scoring are untouched — a sponsored deck never changes how the game plays or who wins.

3.2Seasonal and event campaigns

Available now

Ramadan, Eid, National Day, a store opening, a product launch, a tournament weekend. A campaign is a dated window with a deck, a batch of codes and an announcement behind it, planned as one thing.

  • Dated windows are enforced by the server, not by someone remembering to switch something off — a Ramadan deck stops being a Ramadan deck the moment the window ends.
  • Artwork can be seasonal without being disposable: the same deck can be brought back next year against the same slug.
  • Best booked as a bundle — deck for the visibility, codes for the activation, announcement for the timing.

3.3Voucher-code campaigns

Available now

Single-use codes that credit coins when a player types them into the app. The workhorse of a local activation: printed on a receipt, on packaging, on a flyer, or handed out at a stand.

  • Issued in batches — you choose how many codes and how many coins each is worth.
  • Every code is single-use and independently tracked, so a batch tells you exactly how many were redeemed and when.
  • Codes can carry an expiry date, so a campaign closes on its own.
  • Delivered as a CSV for your printer or your fulfilment partner.

3.4In-app announcements and push

Available now

A timed message to players who have opted into notifications — the way to give a campaign a moment rather than hoping people notice it.

  • Audiences can be segmented — for example players active in the last N days, or players who have drifted away.
  • Promotional volume is capped per player, per week, in the server itself. We would rather under-send than train an audience to switch us off.
  • It respects every player's notification settings and quiet hours. Opted-out players are not reachable by any campaign, at any price.
  • Copy is reviewed by us before it sends. It has to read like the game talking, not like an ad break.

3.5Coin packs and bulk credits

Available now

Coins bought in bulk for prizes, giveaways, staff incentives or a competition pot — settled by bank transfer against a proper invoice.

  • Delivered as redeemable codes, or credited directly to named accounts for a small winners' list.
  • Coins are in-game items with no cash value and no cash-out — which is exactly why they are a clean prize to give away.
  • Suitable as a prize pool for a partner-run tournament, including one played offline.

3.6League and tournament sponsorship

In development

Competitive seasons with standings, a table of ranked players and a season prize. This is the placement partners ask about most, and the one we will not oversell: the competitive engine is built, but leagues are not switched on for players yet.

  • What exists today: the ranked match engine, entry and prize handling, and standings, all built and tested server-side.
  • What does not exist yet: leagues visible to players in the app. Until they are, there is no season for anyone to sponsor.
  • What we are doing about it: taking launch-partner conversations now, for the first season rather than after it. If a season is on your calendar, tell us the date and we will tell you honestly whether we can meet it.
  • A partner-run tournament with a coin prize pool (3.5) is available today and needs none of this.

4Windows, exclusivity and lead time

A campaign is booked as a window — a start date and an end date, both enforced by our servers rather than by anyone remembering. Inside that window your deck is the deck every player sees, because only one is live at a time. That is the single most valuable thing about this placement, and it is also the reason popular dates run out.

Minimum lead time
two weeks before go-live for a deck and a code batch — longer if artwork still has to be designed.
Seasonal windows
Ramadan, Eid and National Day are asked for first and booked earliest. Talk to us months ahead, not weeks.
Exclusivity
Absolute for a card back, by construction — one deck is live at a time and there is no second slot to sell.
Extensions and repeats
A window can be extended while it is running, and the same artwork can return in a later season.
Taking it down
Immediate, on request, at any time. Nothing needs a store release.

5Artwork specification

Send us high-resolution source artwork and we will produce, check and preview the final files. If you would rather deliver to-spec assets yourself, this is the spec:

Card back (required)
5:7 ratio, delivered at 500 × 700 px, WebP, under 240 KB. Full-bleed — it is the whole back of the card.
Logo (optional)
Square 1:1, delivered at 256 × 256 px, WebP with transparency, under 120 KB. Composited over the centre of the back.
Why the size caps
The back of a card is drawn behind every card on the table and downloaded once per player, on mobile data. Small keeps the game fast.
Design notes
The centre may be covered by the logo, and the corners are rounded in play. Keep anything essential away from both.
Source files we accept
PNG, JPEG or WebP at any resolution above the target, plus a vector logo where you have one.

Every asset is reviewed and previewed against the real card before it is scheduled. Nothing goes live that we have not seen on a table.

6How a campaign runs

  1. You write to us with the dates, the goal and the budget you are working to. We reply within 2 business days, with what is possible on those dates and what is not.
  2. We agree the placements, the window and the price, and confirm it in writing. Bulk coins and paid placements are invoiced properly.
  3. You send artwork and any code requirements. We produce the assets to spec and send you a preview of the real card back.
  4. We schedule the window and, where relevant, generate the code batch and draft the announcement copy for your approval.
  5. It goes live on the date agreed, with nothing for players to install.
  6. At the end of the window we send you what we can measure — redemptions per batch, campaign delivery, and the dates it ran.

7What to put in your first email

None of this is compulsory, but a first email carrying it usually saves a week of back-and-forth:

  • Who you are — the brand, and the agency if you are acting for one.
  • The dates. A go-live date and a window length, or the event you are building around.
  • What you want out of it — visibility, redemptions, sign-ups, or something else. It changes what we recommend.
  • Budget, even as a range. It is the fastest way for us to tell you what is realistic.
  • Any artwork or brand guidelines you already have.
  • Anything you need from us formally — a quotation, an invoice in a particular name, or a signed agreement.

8Brand safety, and what we will not do

Both sides of this matter. What you are buying is a placement in a game people trust, and the way to keep that worth buying is to be strict about it.

8.1 What we protect for you

  • There is no player chat in Digu and no way to send another player a message, so a brand placed here cannot end up next to something ugly someone typed.
  • There is no third-party ad network, which means no competing advertiser and no chance of your placement sitting beside one.
  • Reported players and offensive display names are moderated by hand.
  • Every asset and every line of campaign copy is reviewed by us before it ships.

8.2 What we will not do

  • We do not sell, share or rent player data. Not to advertisers, not to anyone. Read the privacy policy — it is the same answer there.
  • We do not use advertising identifiers, third-party tracking SDKs or cross-app profiling, and we will not add them for a campaign.
  • We do not hand over player lists, email addresses or phone numbers to a partner. Campaigns are delivered by us, to our own audience, on their own terms.
  • We do not send campaigns to players who opted out of notifications, and there is no price at which we will.
  • We do not change how the game plays for a sponsor. No sponsored advantage, no pay-to-win, no weighted matchmaking.
  • We do not carry gambling, betting or real-money-gaming promotions. Digu coins have no cash value and there is no cash-out, and it stays that way.
  • We do not carry alcohol, tobacco, adult content, political campaigning, or anything unlawful in the Maldives.
  • We do not run campaigns aimed at young children.
  • We do not carry anything unlawful in the Maldives, or anything that is not permissible under Islamic principles. If a placement turns out to fall foul of either after it goes live, we take it down immediately and refund the unused part of the window.

9Rates

There is no public rate card, and we would be suspicious of one on a page like this. What a campaign costs depends on the window, the season, which placements you take and how much production we do — and a two-week deck in a quiet month and an exclusive Ramadan window are not remotely the same thing.

Tell us the dates and your budget and you will get a written quotation. Local rates are quoted in MVR, and we invoice properly for accounting on both sides.

10Common questions

How do I talk to Digu about advertising or a partnership?

Email marketing@diguapp.com with your brand, the dates you are working to and roughly what you have in mind. A person replies within 2 business days. Player problems go to support@diguapp.com instead.

What can a brand actually put inside Digu?

A branded card back for a booked window, a seasonal or event campaign around it, batches of single-use voucher codes for giveaways, a timed in-app announcement to players who opted into notifications, and bulk coins for prize pools. League sponsorship is in development.

Does Digu run banner ads or video ads?

No. Digu carries no third-party ad network, no ad SDK and no advertising identifiers. Every placement is made with us, appears as part of the game, and is reviewed before it ships.

What artwork do you need for a branded card back?

A card-back background at a 5:7 ratio, delivered at 500x700 as WebP under 240 KB, and optionally a square logo at 256x256 as WebP under 120 KB with a transparent background. Send high-resolution source art and we will produce and check both.

How far ahead do I need to book?

Two weeks before the go-live date is comfortable for a deck plus codes. Seasonal windows — Ramadan and Eid especially — get taken early, so talk to us sooner for those.

Can I get audience numbers?

Yes, on request. We do not publish install or player counts on this page, because a number on a marketing page ages badly and cannot be checked. Ask and we will send the current figures with the period they cover.

11Start a conversation

Even a two-line email with a date on it is enough to start. We will tell you what is possible, what it costs, and what we cannot do.
